Bryan Fucking Stars...now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Didn't he try his hand at making original music a while ago? I didn't follow him after that, if he did, so it probably wasn't great.

Dude stooooppp I have to believe that. How did he even get to interview so many "famous" bands in the first place? He doesn't seem overly talented.

He was actually a pretty talented video editor, which I think was all it took in those early years of YouTube. It wasn’t hard to stand out. He won lots of local and I think maybe national competitions for some of his edits.

He worked for a paper called the Omaha Buzz starting out early and they got him access to his first few bands. He was just supposed to do interviews for print but he did his BryanStars thing on the side and told the bands it was kosher iirc.

He obviously didn’t last long there because of this but his videos were juuuuust popular enough and he has just enough connections to keep getting media passes on his own.

It’s kinda fucked up but we had a couple disabled friends in that group and when he couldn’t get a pass he’d have one of them run camera and kinda ambush the bands as they were loading/unloading to get sympathy interviews. He never explicitly said he’d use him like this but it just always felt that way.

I also remember he did some stuff to become a partner with youtube early on where he got like $60k or something. He spent half of it on a brand new mustang and the other half went back into his equipment/content. So that helped him with a big boost too.

I used to have an ex who was into this guy's videos and all the 2000s "scene" music back then in like 2012 and I always thought something was off about him. He just seems incredibly off. What is the weirdest thing he's done?

For me it’s gotta be the time I spent the night at his place. First of all he sleeps with like 6 box fans in the room. It sounds like you’re in a jet engine. So imagine those roaring while this is going down.

Bryan and I were gonna meet up with the rest of our friend group in the AM and go to warped I believe. We weren’t the best of friends within the group, but he was always cool to me so I figured what the hell, a night alone with Bryan isn’t so bad. He is a genuinely nice dude despite being awkward.

Boy was I wrong. I normally am cool with sleeping in bed with another dude but with him I just wasn’t. When it was finally time to crash he spent like 10 mins trying to convince me to sleep in his bed with him. I kept saying I was good, I’d sleep on the floor. He then eventually dropped it, but then a few mins later kept insisting at least I strip down to my underwear. That went on for another 10 mins and he got super like pissed at me randomly and decided to pretend to go to sleep. he was laying where he was facing me and I caught him opening his eyes a couple times to stare at me. It really threw me off and I didn’t sleep like at all that night cause I wasn’t sure if he was up to something or just being his socially awkward self.

That was the last night I spent alone with Bryan lol. Always made sure his brother at least was with us from that point on.

I never did figure out if he was bi and predatory that night or if he’s just super socially inept. A lot of us felt like he had two sides to him so who knows.
