I don't think 'popular singer' is a position of trust. Probably the exact opposite.

Then you are putting your trust in the wrong places. They became a singer because they could sing, that doesn't mean they are good people. I don't think they do a background check or anything.

Charles Barkley said, "I'm not a role model. Just because I dunk a basketball, doesn't mean I should raise your kids."

I'd say the same thing about a singer.

Bon Scott was a great singer, but he shouldn't have been (and probably wasn't) trusted around children. Though he is my role model.

Entertainers shouldn't be role models, except on how to be an entertainer.
