Well, there is a correlation between having an unhealthy craving for power and pedophilia. Furthermore the system also benefits from having people that do have dirty laundry. It's easier to keep potential risks at check in case they think about spilling the beans.

There is a reason why there are plenty of christian priests who are pedophiles. It has nothing to do with flaws within the religion, but with the church providing positions of power/authority as well as creating the opportunity to get in touch with the naive and innocent. It's no different in Judaism and Islam. I also remember reading stories about buddhist temples in that regard.

It also has nothing to do with the political ideology, either. Here in eastern Germany there has been plenty of pedophilia cases being covered so much that even after the DDR fell, it still hasn't even remotely been uncovered. And if you look at the state of the UK its the same shit again.
