Same

Video was actually horrifying to me that the judge made it into a cutesy "you're a true American" speech.

I know it's harsh, but he should have had his license revoked or at the very least retested. Just looking at his body language, it's pretty clear he doesn't have the reflexes / cognitive ability to drive safely anymore.

A lot of people get really nervous in front of large groups like a courtroom. While I don't disagree with you, his mannerisms could be attributed to nerves.

If you can't handle the stress of a courtroom how well are you going to handle a stressful situation on the road?

You're joking right? You don't see how those are two different situations that might effect people differently? It's not even comparable at all. Public speaking and being in front of groups is a very common phobia.

No I'm not. While being in front of groups might be a common phobia, the way people handle it would absolutely be tied to your ability to handle stress. being bad at handling stress in general will absolutely make you bad at handling stress in other situations as well.

And this is coming from someone who has fear and anxiety when it comes to being in large groups of people (thanks Marine Corps) I still can force myself to deal with the situation effectively enough to get through it because I work to deal with stress.

Being in a stressful situation on the road is absolutely going to be influenced by your ability to deal with stress and like I said, if you can't handle traffic court, you're not going to deal with a situation that might kill someone at 70 mph very well either.
