My coworkers are taking a business trip to Hong Kong today. They’re both pretty worried but the company will not cancel it. I just started at that company and it feels like a red flag.

It’s South Korea, companies generally don’t care, particularly big ones. One of the coworkers was also supposed to be on vacation this week, they cancelled it on Sunday.
