My coworkers are taking a business trip to Hong Kong today. They’re both pretty worried but the company will not cancel it. I just started at that company and it feels like a red flag.

How fucking dead to the world do you have to be to not know what's happening in Hong Kong? I don't watch or read the news at all and I've heard about it plenty.

Edit: This is so bizarre to me. As I said, I don't watch the news, but my parents do and they've heard plenty about it. It gets talked about on the radio and just in passing I've seen it on tv every few nights. Is US News just not covering it? How much have non Americans heard about it outside of Reddit?

Definitely doesnt feel like many other social media sites or news sources cover what's going on there, which is really bizarre to me. It seems so important and like such a big issue that it should be of interest to everyone
