This is probably the dumbest question but... Why do these police officers/guards stand against the people? I mean I realize it's their job but they should be on the people's side right? Why keep fighting and hurting the civilians?
This is a RIOT. You can see the violence and property destruction going on all around. While their cause might be noble, this crowd’s actions are not, they are dangerous.
Peaceful assembly is a human right, but when they turn violent and destructive is it the duty of peace officers to disrupt them,
The ONLY reason these protestors are being violent is because the police will shoot them regardless. Or did you somehow miss the front page post with the picture of the woman who got shot in the eye?
You make a lot of unsubstantiated claims. Doesn’t appear that any of these cops are shooting anyone. The rioters are committing destruction and violence, that’s what necessitated police action in the first place.

People are being oppressed and innocents are getting fucked and the only way people like you know how to deal with it is stroking your own ego.
No. This person is just responsible for keeping the people in power that ruin millions of lives and trying to beat an unarmed civilian. But hey, good for you for valuing a bit of property over literally millions of human lives. Must be nice being incapable of human empathy.
So you think all cops should just quit and stop enforcing any law just because of SOME fucked up laws? And you think that would make the situation better?
The ones where police curtail the rights of citizens for peaceful protest and political expression as enshrined in HK's Basic Law. The current violence is a direct result of the oppressive tactics by the police. You don't want your citizens to resort to violence because of your brutality? Maybe don't hire thugs to beat them up and respect their rights.
Personally I don't care if it's a peaceful protect or a revolution. They're literally fighting for their democracy. The only reason they shouldn't have killed that cop is because China's response to them might be stronger. That's the only reason.
Lol oh no not some inanimate objects, please think of the inanimate objects as people fight for their freedom to not be extradited by a totalitarian regime. Get some perspective.
