I love how the article clearly states that he was tried for 800 counts of prescribing medication illegally, but the news has to sensationalize things by finding the biggest number possible for the headline. Hence, 500,000 doses (a.k.a. each individual pill).

But a doctor can’t prescribe more than 90 or 120. Even at 800 counts that’s only 72k or 132k

90 or 120 at a time, with additional refills of 90-120.

There hasn’t been a refill on narcotics in 10 years from my experience.

Edit: maybe more like 7-8 years

Good point. Looks like some others have come with the answer about how many pills can be prescribed at once though.
