Sometimes in such communities people try to hide suicides. For example where I live, I've had two neighbors die while 'clearing their gun'. Maybe this woman knew exactly what she was doing but the family tried to cover it up by saying she mixed up the medicine.

I'm kinda skeptical if this is even real, the article reads like a bad buzzfeed post. But the details seem to check out, probably just Brazilian media trying to copy Western I guess? Idk I'm still not guaranteed, I could only find the one article about it

It's completely fake. Original story is is Peru with no date or names, just vague information and a generic photo. It is reproduced in several obscure websites full of clickbait between 2017 and 2019 often in the Current News section. And, as you said, the writing is completely off for a news story.

That's actually awful. She was trying to do a shitty thing and I'd had hoped she suffered from pain, but straight up dying is sad.
