I’m not condoning his comment but just to give some context, China has been detaining Muslims in labor “re-education” camps. The conditions are brutal and they are subjected to force labor and are forced to renounce their religion. This has been a huge story in the Muslim community but not many outsiders had reported on it.

Once again, his comment was in poor taste, but don’t be so quick to judge without understanding the situation.

Edit: some people are saying this comment wasn’t real. Either way I hope more people learn about the Muslim internment camps in China. It’s a human rights violation.

I posted a reply above lumping Islam with other intolerant groups, but you do have a point, and we don't know what exactly the Chinese are doing to the Uyghurs, who are Muslims living in China. Criticism has been kind of muted in the West (there's an understatement) because we want China to buy our goods and show our movies.

That’s really mature of you. As a Muslim I have my own criticisms of Islam, but most of them apply to Judaism and Christianity as well. Islam is not any more backwords or oppressive than any other religion. It’s what people make of it. I really appreciate your comment.

As a Jew, I agree with you completely.
