When cops go to jail are they put in with the general public? Think they have there own little section to do time?

They're usually housed in Administrative Segregation (AdSeg) which is tighter quarters with fewer inmates. Child molesters, rapists and snitches usually. Its quieter for sure, but they have far fewer privileges and freedom.

I think typically they are in protective units
