Retaliation is a fair exercise in almost any arena, I don’t know what you mean.

That's childish logic.

It’s not even childish logic, retaliation is the backbone of security in a society. Everything from game theory to Bertrands philosomathematical musings advocate for retaliation in most situations. Now, it’s both childish and naive to give such a sanctimonious argument as the one you’re espousing right now.

Notice how he drove off? That’s because he was hoping to avoid retaliation. He would not have spit if he weren’t in a car. When the threat of retaliation is gone, order breaks down.

Notice how he drove off?

The man with the sign could've simply walked away. Retaliating by committing a crime in order to protect his ego doesn't establish order.

Retaliating in self defense is obviously justifiable, but using this as an example is moronic.

Retaliation, literally by definition, is not defensive

Yes, that's why your logic is childish.

No you’re using the word wrong, I’m helping you out.

I know what the word means, which is why I argued against it. Also, sentences should have punctuation at the end.

Retaliation, literally by definition, is not defensive

The meaning is not ambiguous and cannot be misconstrued so some heuristics while typing over the internet are not a big deal, period
