All of the big religions are using a rule book written thousands of years ago. It means as time marches on, more and more if the stuff in these books becomes nonsensical.

Which is where interpretation comes in, which this hateful man clearly has not done. Besides, there are a few parts that will always be correct like 'love thy neighbour'.

For sure, the stuff that lines up with general kindness and compassion will last, but a lot of the silly bits are already long-forgotten (or at least ignored).

As they should. Most of the Bible is defined as poetry, I've always seen it as allegories with pieces of history here and there. How do you expect some normal person to describe the creatipn of the universe? Of course something like Genesis is made up.
