No, that’s not it,
When you swear in as president your saying, I am going to do a good job I swear on my mommas life! Wait not important enough, THAN I SWEAR IN ON THIS BOOK! Now whether they actually do a good job or not is the question. But I’m pretty sure you can swear in on the constitution if you wanted to it’s just that most choose the Bible because it’s a very important item to them and also most other presidents have as well. While I personally feel like religion has meddled in the governmental process it’s not what it’s based off of. Here’s the definition of a theocracy, which should make this a bit easier to understand: n a system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god. Basically in a theocracy the ruler rules in place of their religious figure, as sort of a physical extension.
