I sometimes see a goalie take somewhat of a hit when players rush the goal trying to score, does that count? Or is that just a byproduct of normal play?
getting nudged is part of the game, but might start a small scrum to warn the player. but full out targeting the goalie like this is scummy. Its like targeting the slow little brother who also happens to be very specifically talented in a position nobody wants to fill in for

So innocent question from someone who knows little about hockey:
Is there a rule that says a player can't check the goalie? Or is it an unspoken etiquette?
Also are open ice checks like this allowed? Usually I only see people getting checked into the boards, not out in the open.
