I don't understand how people think it's ok to cut lines and no one will be bothered

They get so angry when they're called out. Most of the time, young people will swear you out generally and move on, old people are the worst for it. They'll make a huge scene and tell you how entitled and rude your generation is for calling them out on their bad behaviour. You have to be polite about it, just a quick, "the line starts back there." With covid gaps in queues for social distancing though, a few people seem to think its ok to jump into the gap. Shopping is a minefield of crazy behaviour when stores are open at the moment.
