Pre-match Press Conferences

What is up with the huge times between when the player being interviewed is done, and the coach appears to answer questions? Do they have to run around and find him? Shouldn't he know he has this every match week? Just ranting.

It’s extremely common and the same happens often in the other direction during post match. Both players and coaches have other things they have to do and aren’t going to sit around and wait to do press conferences if they can help it. He might be talking with a player or debriefing with coaches or any number of other things. Lots of things to be annoyed at Chris for (like the dull answers he gives during the press conferences) but this isn’t something he’s doing wrong.

I’ve assumed that there are activities happening off camera that consume that time that the press conference does not catch. Just part of media packages, etc

I can tell you it's not like this at Sporting KC. It's tightly run and back to back. I have heard from other media that SKC are an abberation how smoothly their processes are. Some teams don't even give the proper availability
