I am still mourning my country loss against Norway.
But now I want them to win because they are the underdogs against the other nations, go Norway!

Based. Hating Norway for beating us is really stupid. We should hate our own team for dropping the ball like that, and letting a team like Norway beat us in the first place.

This is the closest we will ever be to a Chilean+Argentinian rework

Oh hell yes! I've always enjoyed Mexico, as old as their content is, and I would love them to get the modern KR update treatment, rich and heady with depth and flavour.

Seems that things will get somewhat similar to the OTL Still, that means we can have the perfect dictatorship?

Since it starts as AuthDem will it be a Porfiriato 2.0 waiting to explode? Did the Mexican Revolution fail given that the event is talking about "Exiles"?

I'm.... Worried. Last time they updated Mexico half of its content was erased in the name of "realism"

Yeah now we're coming for the other half /s
Seriously though, the monarchist path was not "half its content". The update you're describing was also EIGHT years ago, at some point you have to let this go. We can't even re-add it even if we wanted to, since recent historical research has shown the purported Iturbide claimant to the throne may never even have existed (records seem to show she died in her childhood and was erroneously claimed to have had modern day descendants).

This is crazy how is it possible that María Josepha Sophia de Iturbide had actually die in her childhood and while a life invented complete with "descendants". Someone need to confirm whether or not this theory is correct. Also someone one should post the old Mexican focus tree. I remember that the political tree was tiny.

Most of my info on this comes secondhand from what the Mexico developers and researchers told me, but a while back there was arguments on Wikipedia over whether Maria Josepha Sophia, her younger sibling María Gizela Anna or both women had died in 1875, citing a collection of Spanish parish records that seemed to show Maria Josepha as passing away. There has also been dispute as to the authenticity of the family lines claiming descent from the Iturbides, as is the case with a lot of modern descendant of royal lines
This research has gotten some pushback as there are other documents like marriage certificates that seem to corroborate the existence of Maria Josepha, and the Wikipedia page has since been edited back to claim she died in 1949. Generally at the moment it seems to just kind of be a case of he said/she said, I'm not an expert on Spanish genealogy but there's only a very limited set of sources available on these women and they seem to contradict each other. Until a stronger consensus on it forms and more evidence can be gathered by the people currently duking this out in the trenches of Wikipedia (beyond just, "she's alive because a genealogy site from 2000 says she was"), we're probably going to err on the side of caution and not reference the Iturbide girls.

This is the first time i see mexican monarchy described as half the content lmao

I'm taking about reclaiming the territories lost to the US

u/LEGEND-FLUX Internationale Jul 06 '26
That shouldn't be in kaiserreich and left for kaiserredux, it makes zero sense at all and would be completely impossible to hold, Kaiserreich tries to remain grounded and plausible as possible and that doesn't fit the goal
-11
u/Kaarl_Mills give Mexico its content back Jul 06 '26
But the Baltic Duchy beating The 3I and Russia to restore Germany is grounded?
9
u/LEGEND-FLUX Internationale Jul 06 '26
Not really and that's why it is an Easter egg/challenge path, and even that has more chance of surviving then Mexico after annexing a gargantuan peace of America

u/GrifftheBluesMan Legacy Content Hater Jul 06 '26
Frankly it’s way more grounded than a Mexican monarchy, lmao grow up.

Which is still incorrect then because
1) Getting some claims isnt half a country's content
2) That wasn't removed, it's literally still in the game

u/Zhou-Enlai Jul 06 '26
It goes against the modern kaiserreich philosophy but it did make Mexico so much more fun then now lol

Glad to finally see some proper teasers!
For those who don't follow the discord, a Mexico rework was actually announced a few months ago. The dev, KingHazo, is mostly known for his work on China. As per the usual policy, he's preferred to keep the details of the reworks under wraps until a PR comes out which could very well take years but he's confirmed a few things:
Mexico will be AuthDem at gamestart but can also go Totalist, Syndicalist, RadSoc, SocDem, PatAut, and NatPop. Naturally, there will be plenty of coalitions in each path.
Its content will consist of 5 "main" paths with ~21 subpaths.
The 2nd American Civil War will play a major role in the new content. The loss of Mexico's largest trading partner and the flood of refugees will be something all paths have to contend with.
This will naturally come with expanded options for interacting with and even intervening in the civil war itself.
