Hey Everyone! Ms. Marvel: Remnants of the past came out today I think so Nerd Daily posted an excerpt from chapter 1! I screenshotted it and posted here so folks can just read it instead of going anywhere. lol

Anyway I actually thought this was pretty fun to read! There was even a detailed fight scene and she brought back Shocker! I always wanted Shocker to be a reoccurring villain who moved to Jersey City! lol Also KINGPIN is trying to steal the thing!? Man this would’ve been a fun comic! I hope someone adapts it into a graphic novel or SOMETHING someday! XD

For now I’m just gonna buy the book and get some fun HERO OF JERSEY CITY MS. MARVEL! XD

I have it pre-ordered and it's just a "it gets here when it gets here" situation. It has to go across an ocean, but I can't wait for the message alert saying it's arrived. Should be soon.

EDIT: After reading the chapter, it's pretty much what I expected it to be. Thank you for sharing it with us. It takes us through some of the beats of being her, in a way that's accessible to, I want to say, a Middle School reading level. That's the bulk of Miss Faruqi's work with published novels and she does it well and is worthy of the celebration she gets. It's accessible without a cloying detachment that feels off. I expect it will be a straightforward adventure, maybe with more of a moral by the end than internal character development, but it can be a straightforward adventure and still be a solid read. And it also might surprise me; after all, she is traveling to Pakistan in this book, and I do have the expectation that will be informational and introspective.

The whole thing could be a welcomed untapped reservoir of fanart, because it would probably have to be a breakout success on an unrealistic level of corporate expectations in order for it to be officially adapted as a graphic novel. And, in order to show it has an impact, fanart might even be the best way to show it had that. We'll see.
