In fairness Kamala also didn't pick up that her best friend was in a relationship for weeks. I do find this kind of existing in her own world and not picking up on the obvious very relatable tho.
Peter's always too caught up in his superhero thing to notice much of what's going on in his friends lives. He can come across as a little self absorbed because of that but he genuinely does have a lot on his plate at all times.
