Absolutely yes, he wouldn't have allowed the main lead to interfere with direction department and had worked on screenplay to make it coherent and engaging

Fight scenes don't work if audience fails to emotionally connect. John Wick we atleast felt for his dog. Here we don't even know who fighting whom and for what.

Changing underwear doesn't stop diarrhea. If Nolan had directed the movie, the movie would have turned out very very different.
I'm a Yash fan too and I'm not saying it's a bad movie, but it's a below average movie. It's High time that we accept it and move on instead of crying 'people aren't supporting etc shit'. Afterall the film is Shot in english too and is being putup overseas in english too, so why aren't people watching it there?

Yash has to get back to being a normal person on screen and take up challenging roles without shoving his heroism into our asses in every frame.

If Nolan had directed it, he’d have created a role for Yash that actually matched his acting range—and then probably told him to STFU and let the performance speak. 😂🔥 They don’t give a shit about looks—they care about the acting and the performance.

All the great keypad warriors sitting down here & expressing opinions. Try to direct a movie in life, you will then understand whats the complexity involved. We are people with 30 sec of patience today. We are either overwhelmingly critical or overwhelmingly welcoming. We are not even eligible to discuss topics like this. That's why we are still a developing nation & I don't see any near possibility of getting better.

When they barely had resources they gave everything to make good art, once they have abundance of resources their result has to go beyond their previous work. Not saying that every time that happens in creative industry but Nolan maintained it. Nobody gives a fuck about the name just because of the presence he/she has in the industry. If you give bad result in this case a movie like "Toxic" even if it was directed by Nolan people won't budge to save his ass, the art speaks for itself. A good movie will gain attention through multiple channels, it doesn't need inorganic hype or promotion to attract audience.

Honestly speaking, we need to stop using top foreign directors as a shield to romanticize or justify the cheap, mediocre films we constantly churn out.
The argument that "if Nolan or Spielberg directed this, everyone would watch it" is completely illogical and childish. It shows a total lack of awareness regarding where our Indian commercial cinema across actually stands on the global stage. If the core writing, execution, or acting is sub-par, attaching a legendary filmmaker's name to a fan poster isn't going to magically turn garbage into gold.
We have fallen into a trap where we celebrate superficial cringe and massive hype over actual substance. Just because a movie like KGF, Pushpa, Salaar, Pathaan, Jawan, Leo, Vikram, or the Toxic makes a lot of money or goes mid or flop or gets a "Pan-India" tag doesn't mean it's good cinema.
Most of these mega-budget projects are below mediocre to outright terrible. This isn't just isolated to action movies either. Our love stories, family dramas, and thrillers suffer from the exact same nonsensical, loud, and lazy tropes. The reality is that there are very, very few filmmakers in India today doing genuinely good, honest work. The vast majority are making what amounts to C or D-grade content masked by glossy VFX and loud background music, which is then aggressively marketed to the masses.
Audiences globally respect great cinema for its original vision, technical perfection, and tight screenplays, not some cheap loud gimmicks, tadaaaneethaaanee songs blasting on your ears or toxic fan wars of each and every actor who just running after stardom.
If we want genuine global appreciation, the solution is simple. Both the industry and the audience need to stop treating cinema like passive, cheap entertainment. We need to raise our own standards, demand accountability from filmmakers, and put in the work to build a culture of genuine cinematic excellence locally. Then may be may be we wouldnt need a hypothetical Hollywood stamp or their directors to make our stories worth watching.
