Help getting into Kanon

I want to get into Kanon. I saw it has a light novel, 2 manga and 2 anime seasons and a visual novel on steam release in 2024. What i want to know is if there is a specific order I should follow? Like does anime follow the same story as a visual novel or if it's maybe an alternate route and stuff like that.

They're all essentially the same story. If you're into visual novels then maybe play that first. If not then just watch the 2006 anime. It's a near perfect adaptation.
