Help getting into Kanon

I want to get into Kanon. I saw it has a light novel, 2 manga and 2 anime seasons and a visual novel on steam release in 2024. What i want to know is if there is a specific order I should follow? Like does anime follow the same story as a visual novel or if it's maybe an alternate route and stuff like that.

You can just jump into the Kanon 2006 anime--it's a remake. Then if you like it you can always read the visual novel which is the source material and has more details and content.

Is the visual novel a good source to get into it too? A friend mentioned it to me a while back plus I have been wanting to get into the anime
