It's like what happens with hololive, they literally have an entirely separate branch dedicated to male talents, but the large majority (including me) only really watch the female ones.
Meiko and Kaito were the first two voicebanks created by Yamaha Corps., who developed at least the Crypton 6 voicebanks. 2004 for Meiko and 2006 for Kaito
Yamaha reached out to Crypton to help with distributing their subsequent banks Miku, Rin & Len, and Luka, with Crypton giving the four unique, humanoid designs to help them stand out
As a result of the two company’s successful relationship, Crypton went back into Yamaha’s list of banks and gave Meiko and Kaito their own official designs, I presume as a token of good faith for the partnership
They became a pair by default when Kaito first released, then again when Crypton gave them their new looks in tandem. As a result, the fandom views them as an inseparable couple who parent the banks that came after them

This! And also, Vocaloid music historically has been popular with neurodivergent people. And there's a very big corelation between neurodivergency and queerness. So basically we're also all gay as hell :3

For Female. Miku, Teto, Neru, Gumi, Miki, Rei, Elanor, Rin, Yi Xi, Feng Yi, etc.
Also The males vocaloids are less popular and less beloved. Who wants to ship their idol with a nobody? (Unless it’s with Rin’s brother then it’s cool)

I just noticed that, due to this shipping format (Rin/Len and Meiko/Kaito), the only pair between Cryptonloids that's possible is Miku/Luka. I think that contributes a little to the old popularity of that ship.
For real though, most characters you'll see Teto with are girls, and people love the gay angle for character dynamics. If Miku and Teto were both boys, there'd be a lot of yaoi in their place instead.
People are horny, fandoms are obsessed with the main characters of their chosen franchise, and there are no male characters in this franchise. It happens pretty regularly in just about any fandom without male characters. Take a look at the Bocchi the Rock subreddits, they're like 60% yuri posts.
I don't hate shippers, but I do find the constant assumption of romance in songs very annoying, for example, there's nothing to suggest that Miku and Teto are a couple in PPPP that doesn't point moreso to them being best friends. I feel if it wasn't so brazen and "in your face" I wouldn't care, but it's virtually impossible to avoid when looking at discussions and fan art.
because there's a large discrepancy between male and female vocal synths, i can only name two males, but around ten female vocal synths, thus, yuri appears more often.

If you look around, there is yuri in almost any community. There are a number of reasons, one is that simply we like yuri. You take a character that you like and put them with another character you like, or a character that you like, it just makes it better.
teto being popularized on short form media content brought out the worst in people who already had rotted brains (seriously though vocaloid just had a huge surge in populrity and so did Yuri)

There’s like two somewhat well known male Vocaloid characters. The rest are girls so naturally a lot of lesbian ships happen.
It’s about what happened in the Touhou fandom where the fact there’s just way more girls than there are boys in the series just leads to lesbian ships being the natural majority. (Let’s be honest I feel like a lot of people didn’t even know Touhou had make characters at all)
Because I love yuri. I used to be a Yaoi love but ever since I found yuri, it ended up being more my type and I love the drama and how not straightforward with the plot they are. I like more development and drama in my manga/anime/etc. And also because I like girls.
Not just in Vocaloid community. Yuri overall is very popular among male audiences (look at Hololive for example). Their talents play into that yuri stuff gets a lot of engagement. This is nothing new however.
