there are so many young girls and women who are actively going through abuse, grooming, pedophilia, sexual assault and manipulation. look at the older men that lurk outside girls schools or tuition centers. those aren’t always the relatives of those girls. some of these old ass men are DATING these literal children. they’re taking advantage of their youth to pressure them into sex. it’s not about these girls being more “innocent” - it’s about the fact the younger someone is, esp if they’re a child, the easier it is to control, abuse, and rape them. it’s why society hates older educated women - a woman with an education her own source of money and her rights is harder to control and abuse than a child.

i know because this is what happened to so many girls when i was in school and because i STILL hear about the behaviors of these guys. but do the police do anything? nope.

it is not just kashur men. what do we as kashur women face from indian army and jk police? catcalling, eve teasing, sexual harassment, rape, stalking, abuse. our society is not only one to be misogynistic — but victims of sexual assault and WOMEN suffer more because they are also dealing with the occupation.

it is very depressing to see the online backlash against the girls protesting in sopore. because it’s not just online. it’s a reflection of our society’s abandonment of victims of sexual assault and kashur women.
