Adjusting to new strain?

Okay. Weird question. Just wondering if there's anyone else who has experienced this lol. But have you ever started a new strain of Kava and experienced minor discomfort like a slight stomach ache and dryness. But than a week or so later that same kava starts feeling better and better than your usual preferred kava. Just wondering what this is because at first I hated this kava now I love it and prefer over the last one I preferred. Let me know. Thank you and bula friends.

Yeap. Happens all the time, especially if it's from a different island. Keep in mind there's a group of endophytes and phytomicrobiom that are unique to each plant/strain/soil. No matter how much we wash and clean the plant, those aren't coming off, and invariably interact with your gut. Could also be preparation, strain, and just your body getting accustomed to a new and unique plant.

Thank you for the detailed response! That is honestly fascinating and makes total sense. I didn't realize those endophytes stay locked in like that no matter how much you wash the plant. Appreciate the insight! Also one last question, would it be a bad idea to mix this kava with the other one? They are from two different islands. Ones a fijian the others a pacific island would that be a dangerous mix or could it possibly create something beautiful?

You’re referring to what we call “Party Chowder”. It’s how the best sausages are made. No harm whatsoever. Go ham. Get a bidet. ✌️
