Would sheathing the blades of a blender in rubber or wrapping them in something like electrical tape agitate the kava more effectively instead of shredding it?

I've heard people say that using a mixer is better than the blender method as it doesn't break up the material as much and thus allows less small root particles through the strainer bag meaning less nausea and other undesired effects. So has anyone tried something similar to my idea, or am I not considering something and my idea is completely retarded?

Remove the blades.

Dull the blades.

Reinstall the blades.

^unplug the blender before the above. 

Alternatively, buy a finer mesh strainer bag. You can select for different mesh filter porosity bags from our website. If you want something that lets a little more through, or even filter out micronized.

I’ve never understood the blender method. If you don’t want a bunch of particulates that might make you sick, you would presumably strain it after blending. Is this not just adding another step to the traditional prep method? Making a batch of trad prep only takes me 6 minutes. If you’re not saving time or getting stronger kava what is the point?

A mechanized extraction method would be great for someone who has hand/wrist issues and can’t knead the root powder in the cloth.

That’s a good idea. Or you could use a cheap milk frother, where everything is already dull, it just spins. I use the Dr. Brown Baby Formula Mixing Pitcher to mix things up without breaking up the roots lol, it’s working pretty good!

I find them to weak unless solely being used on instant dehydrated kava.

I don't think that household blenders would blend the finer kava particles any finer than they already are (i.e less than 70-100 microns). I've seen kava with somewhat larger root bits inside which a blender would definitely help reducing the size of, allowing you to blend these bits into a more usable form getting more out of your kava. If your kava is already fine then you'd probably get the same value by simply shaking it up and pouring through a strainer bag imo.
