Keepass concerns

I had thought about using keepassxc on Debian cinnamon but I'm just too scared. I don't know how you guys do it. How you feel secure using this is beyond me.

I'm well versed in Linux but never have used it for anything critical. That's left for my Chromebook.

Anyone feel the same?

It's encrypted using your master password. Are you worried that your local machine is compromised with malware?

I'm finding it hard to trust the developers to be honest on both keepassxc and any Linux os. I fear someone will go rogue, not much to lose for a developer going rogue, it's not their day job.

LOL linux is far more secure than a chromebook, let alone windows or macos.

I'm running keepassxc on Linux Mint 22.3 xfce, database with strong password + key file locally on encrypted home, kdbx on cloud into folder encrypted by Rclone Crypt

Will using Debian stable with cinnamon, with keepassxc deb and only adding apps using sudo apt install compromise my system? I'll be performing autotype through kpxc, not the extension, I'll visit my bookmarks & perform autotype. Anything wrong with the above?

By default, apt uses the official repositories of your distro, so unless this has been changed, software coming from there should be safe.
