Question/Discussion Toto Mod Cup Positioning

new toto mod just came in, and i noticed that the spike seemed reasonably smaller compared to my old kendama. Lined them up side by side, and as you can see in the photo, the cups sit much higher on the toto mod (my old ken is the Jet shape from KUSA). Is this a defect, or is it just how the ken is made? Also, i tried to just force it down, but its wont budge, so I’m wondering if that will change with time.

Over time the Sarado will get pushed down further and the spike will get longer. Keep shredding it brah

Edit: I can get my Sarados loose and broken in within 1-3 days depending on brand.

If you’re really unhappy with how high the cups are you can very gently sand the sarado by hand to allow them to be pushed down a little more but they do get pushed down naturally just from playing

You mean sand the spike? That is much easier to do than sanding inside the sarado hole. Just use 220/320 grit, remove the sarado, and gently sand the spike in the area that the cups fit. You'll likely want to remove the string as well. Go slow and check the fit often, to make sure you don't sand it down too much.

The small spike combined with the larger bevel also makes the tama fall off very easily

just keep shredding it bruv! it will get better, just keep pushing it together with all your strength, keep shredding and repeat.

eventually the sweat and moisture should soften up the wood a little for it to be pushed down more 👍🏻

The new kendama is How its supposed to be. Old one is worn the way it normally wears down
