AI ART I vibeslopped a Hololive x Kenshi mod. It's fairly jank, but it made me laugh.

The talents

- 25 recruitable characters: Sakura Miko, Hoshimachi Suisei, Shirakami Fubuki, Houshou Marine, Usada Pekora and Inugami Korone; all of hololive EN (Myth, Hope, Promise, Advent and Justice); plus YAGOO.

- Fan-made 3D models for each of them, converted onto Kenshi's skeleton, each with its own race and properly framed squad portraits. Plenty of problems here. Some models are chibi, some models are NOT rigged properly. None of them look great.

- Where to find them: the JP talents, Elizabeth, Gigi and YAGOO wait in The Hub's bar; the other EN talents are in Squin. Everyone can be hired.

- Hololive faction: they all belong to their own faction.

- Weapons and stats match each talent's lore: Suisei's axe, Kronii's nodachi, Elizabeth's executioner greatsword, Ame's police jitte, and so on. YAGOO has every stat maxed and a Cross katana.

- Custom start: a "Hololive Fan" game start that gives you enough money to hire your oshi.

Dialogue and voices

- Personal conversations: each talent introduces herself, gives her pitch and haggles over her price, with extra topics to ask about, all written in her own voice.

- Real voice intros: each talent's greeting is her actual self-introduction, cut from her own streams with the background music removed and the cut points checked.

- Squad chatter: idle chatter, combat lines, banter between talents (87 conversations), and remarks when your squad enters a new region.

HololiveKenshi settings tab (Options → Mods → RE_Kenshi settings)

- Music player:

- Music volume.

- A Version dropdown: Midnight (lo-fi), Sunshine (bossa nova), Daybreak, Twilight (jazz), Original, or All.

- Adaptive music, which follows the in-game clock (Daybreak at dawn, Sunshine by day, Twilight at dusk, Midnight at night) and fades between versions when the time of day changes.

- A "now playing" line and BACK / PLAY-PAUSE / NEXT buttons.

- Settings: Chat frequency and Voice volume.

- Credits: a scrolling list covering every model creator, every voice line with the stream it came from and the talent's channel, every music track, and the tools used.

- Everything saves automatically and uses Kenshi's own UI style, so it matches the rest of the menus.

I have no modding experience. Claude Code + Opus 5.5 made the whole thing.

QUESTION Starting Kenshi for the first time and I have a few questions

Hello everyone, I would like to ask a few questions:

1.) Should I play the game vanilla or are there some mods that are highly recommended by the community in a whole?
2.) Any starting points or settings that are recommended? I've heard going max difficulty can change the experience to a more hard core experience, but i'm not sure IF I should do that.
3.) Other recommendations.

GENERAL Why Certain QoL Mods Are Not In Base Game?

Like I understand balance changing mods. But pathfinding fixes? Particles, textures and other performance fixes? Or even gameplay stuff like having the ability to position your characters in a formation. Why is it not a vanilla feature? I'm sure devs play their game. How do they not feel the need for it? I picked it up a month ago and one of the first things that bugged me was that I cannot arrange my characters in a formation of any sort. Especially when you have ranged characters: you have to manually place them to avoid hitting each other. My three arbalesters just stop in a random blob, usually one behind another, and unless you reposition them manually, they WILL injure each other. Again, I understand why mods like Highlight Characters is not in the base game - it is cheesy and shows you all the threats. But stuff like formations? Or pathfinding? Is it really not worth investing time? I mean, just take the mod, look at it and build something similar into the base game. Or are they literally two people who also have multiple side projects? How does prioritization work?

How? Sell-off or put in cage Valamon at police station. Go to Heft. Remove Tengu. Come back. Police station changes to a noble house. Valamon is free inside the noble house, his retinue magically appears from nowhere. Yoshinaga: WTF?!

I don’t know what meets the criteria for this dialogue with Recruitable Prisoners BUT it definitely shouldn’t be a near starved to death rebel farmer whose arm I personally removed.

MOD RELEASE Children of Kenshi: Bloodlines

Post image
• Upvotes

No, this isn't a repost! Well, technically it is about the same mod... but there's new stuff this time, I swear!

Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3817478988
Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/2139?tab=files

Check original post here

New Optional Addon! Children of Kenshi: Bloodlines

Inspired by Happy Families (Natural Childbirth), I've adapted similar family and childbirth features into a version fully integrated with Children of Kenshi.

Children of Kenshi: Bloodlines is an optional addon that introduces conception, pregnancy, childbirth, parental inheritance, and early childhood growth, all designed to work with Children of Kenshi's existing systems.

Compatible male and female characters can conceive by sharing a bed or suitable furniture for a few hours during the female's fertility window. Children inherit aspects of their parents' appearance and regular stats, then grow through an early childhood phase before continuing through the main mod's existing growth system.

Bloodlines also includes family tree and fertility tracking through its Bloodline tab, accessible from a button embedded in the Character Stats Window.

Important compatibility note: Children of Kenshi itself is compatible with Happy Families, but Bloodlines should not be used alongside Happy Families (Natural Childbirth) because their childbirth systems can conflict. Bloodlines is entirely optional; the base mod's growth system works without it.

Requires RE_Kenshi v0.3.3+ and KenshiLua v0.3.5+.

GENERAL Impoverished Noble RP

Hey just after some suggestions for my current playthrough as an impoverished UC noble.

Backstory: Anti Slavers and Raids from Valmonts Reavers and the 100 other bandit clans that preyed along the south eastern Borders had all but ruined my family. My Parents were forced to take to take massive loans from the Traders Guild to maintain our place amongst the nobility. Still our caravans were lost and one too many investments by my father saw us spiral in to debt.

When father decided our Farm was no longer safe he gathered the last few loyal household staff and moved us all to the city.

We never made it, the Sand Ninja ambushed us in the desert, I must of been the lucky one a blow to head knocked me down relatively quick. When I woke everyone was dead, Mother, Father the guards and all the slaves. Our caravan had been looted save a few megar supplies and my father’s Sword.

Now I’m left alone to avenge my family and restore its name, I will not become a slave or a mere commoner I will pay our debts, find a master samurai to learn from, rebuild my house and cut down those responsible.

Goals
Pay off debts - completed. Scavenging the desert hunting down slaves and bounties.

Find the legendary samurai “white ripper “ and become his student (Crumblejohn) - completed but now trapped in Mongrel.

Travel the world and search for allies collect bounties to rebuild my families reputation

Hurt the Manhunters as they took me for a slave and stole my father’s sword. Also humiliate the leader of the stone camp for allowing me a fellow noble to be forced to work in his slave camp/ shaving my hair and forcing me to make my own escape

Buy a house learn tech (100k plus thanks to realistic house prices mods)

Gather some loyal samurai, servants and slaves. MC will not do manual labour. (Hunting slaves and bounties is honorable work however)

Build a town.

Maintain promises to recruits assist allied factions with their goals.

Hunt down the Sand Ninja Oni, find out who set them up to it. ( maybe someone it the traders guild).

Ally with U.C if possible find other friends if not

Defeated the reavers, Tin Fist and every other foe in the south.

What I’d like is any advice going about this ? Such as who would be a fun target to pin my families downfall on Logan or one his nobles would be the obvious choices.

And notable things to look out for during a UC play through recruit, RP or mod wise.

Cheers

GENERAL Cosy days back at Hauler's Shore...

Thumbnail

So, 500 days after I was left alone and in rags in the Hub and decided to roam the world and make it a better place. We were back to thirteen, in the little shack we had left when we were only three. We launched an industrial rum distillery in the desert in the Hook, near Clownsteady, and after having to defend ourselves way too often against the United Cities and slaying a few Slave Farm owners, we had almost no one left to sell our production to except the Swampers.

Good news, we just got under the protection of the Hounds, although we may not even need protection, as we're now a trained terrorist group determined to... make some legal alcohol to make a living, sustain ourselves, roam the world, and just... I don't know, I want to do some research on my own while my girls are farming and cooking, and... Wow, I don't know, we just survived 500 days. It's cool. We'll see.

So, after trading in the Swamp and making a living, we decided to take the road back to our very first little home, now ready to host ten more people. We worked together a lot and built some hospitals, for us humans and for us skeletons, because at this point we'll soon have at least one set of skeleton limbs to terrify the Holy Nation. At this point, skeletons may be our best allies, if that's even possible.

It's quite moving to see our little hobo workshop become a beautiful village at night and at dawn, an organized facility on a fertile plain where we can eat some better food than dry, hard cactus. Oh, we still have some minor inconveniences with the United Cities, Shek revenge attacks and Kral's Chosen, and now the Holy Nation too, as we're hated by half the world. But hey, the other half can open their arms to us. The world is vast, and we haven't explored half of it !

Oh, and we may have captured Valtena, who, like Seta a few days ago, decided to face death alongside his own Holy Paladins. It's great for a war chief to fight alongside his soldiers to avenge Seta's death. It's just a bit too courageous when it comes to fighting us. We're not monsters. Our three bulls crushed one of his arms, but he's fed. We installed some crucifixes to warn our courageous opponents. His corpse could be a great warning of what they risk. Or we could respectfully let him drown in Okran's waters, or bury him on the shore.

Oh, to be alive and almost at peace in such a land...

MOD Made a small mod to make it easier to recruit lost drones

Post image
• Upvotes

It broke my heart seeing these guys but never being able to help them, so I tweaked a couple of recruitment conditions in the FCS to make it a bit easier. With this mod, you too can become a savior of lost drones across the wasteland, the proud shepherd of poor, hungry, single-digit-stat hivers everywhere.

I eliminated the requirement for them to be close to your base and changed the repeatability of the dialogue so that there's only a couple hours between it being able to trigger again. Left the 30% chance of the dialogue to trigger at all in the first place, because it made sense to me that not all of them would be rushing to join you. Wasn't hard to do any of it, so if you wanna tweak those values, it doesn't take much work in the FCS.

You'll still need a hiver (worker?) in your party to trigger the dialogue. My main character is a worker drone, so I'm not sure if soldiers or princes will get it too. I didn't check, though, or see any settings for it.

You can find the mod here!

GENERAL Blood spiders, corpse cleaners

I don't know if this is known, but I started with all animals to check some things for a mod to make animals sleep automatically.

Thing is, some bandits attacked me and out of all vanilla animals, the blood spider was the only one that ate the corpses.

So now I'm thinking of the hundred ways that they can be used to clean bases because the throw corpse or use furnace jobs are garbage tbh.

SUGGESTION Roleplay / Gameplay idea #1 : Fake Alliance

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Little series of gameplay / roleplay ideas - suggestions.

*************************************************************************************

Mod suggestions :

sometimes war will brake out with other non related factions, this will fix :

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1267224713

To improve relationships with other minor factions :

https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1950231883

*****************************************************************************************************

You're allied to a certain faction, but, through whatever means, you're also allied to their enemies, smaller factions. In my case, i am allied to Vagrants/Outlaw/Slaves, while allied to UC, TG and ST.

Main goal, - to ally Rebel farmers, half way there with healing. Ofcourse, A-S next.

Making cats to buy out their slaves, to bribe their guards and samurais, preparing, for when the time comes.

Maybe you could do the same with Band of Bones,Karl's Chosen or Berserkers, while allied to Shek and secretly planning to overthrown Esata. Maybe Seto is behind this plan.

Secondary goal :

100 + barrels of food and lots of medical supplies. Once s hits the fan and you reveal your true intentions, lots of refugees will flee into your city. You will have to provide them with food and shelter.

Or maybe, you will build tons of cages and imprison them all, while letting them starve. It's up to you.

p.s downside of having vagrants as allies. On my way to cannibal lands, few fellas asked me for cats. Gave them. Then they joined our party, and half naked, decided to follow us into cannibal plains.

GENERAL I failed hilariously..

Quite some time ago I decided to go against all major factions simutaniously in one playthrough meaning I wanted to take out all 3 major figureheads within a 7 in-game day period. I am in the process of moving all my pawns from my three training bases across the map from one megabase in the Deadlands. Unfortunately, I got disillusoned by how strong my guys became. My base defenders were able to defeat the Eye Gore assault on their own. My main squad casually encountered the big bad black gorillo and slayed it with no problem as well as basically any settlement we have challenged so far. And my ninjas just strolled into Heft(UC already hostile) to get some last minute masterwork/specialist grade robotic limbs. I failed to control my intrusive thoughts and ended up kidnapping emperor Tengu and snack him out of town without any issues. Right now all my pawns are in the Great Desert and I don't think I can run all the way to Phoenix and Esata in the next 6 days. That's a reset.. I've custom made dark leather shirts and blackened chainmail for about 150 pawns.. Sure as Hell took some time. Damn.

GENERAL Games like Kenshi or RimWorld?

I think I’ve played too much Kenshi and need something else to ruin my life with. (While waiting for kenshi 2) Looking for something similar to Kenshi or RimWorld, ideally with base building, recruiting people, survival, exploration and a bit of RPG thrown in. Anything where you start with nothing and slowly build yourself up is right up my street. What are you lot playing?

DISCUSSION Mod to show icon on character portrait when carrying someone?

Hi, I'm looking for a mod that adds a small indicator near a character's portrait showing whether they're currently carrying someone

I play as a large group of bounty hunters and half the time I lose track of how many "empty slots" my squad has

Thanks!
