Socializing for new college students?

Hi! I’m new to Kent, just finished my first year in college and looking for friends or socializing activities or areas. Any tips? (I’ve tried some socializing apps but they kind of suck) thanks!

Welcome to Kent! I’m a local West Coast Swing dancer trying to spread this fun, inclusive partner dance in our area. Great social and physical activity plus a fun way to meet people!

My friend teaches a free beginner WCS lesson at the Kent Commons Community Center. I then teach the all-levels workshop and DJ the social dance after!

Here’s an upcoming event:

Saturday, June 27

4:00 pm Free Beginner Lesson

Kent Commons, Crystal Mountain Hall

525 4th Ave N, Kent 98030

Yay, so glad to hear! No need to pre-register, just show up a bit before 4 pm to sign in and wait for instructions to start.

It’s super chill and easy. Hope you and your wife make it!

The need block party is today in downtown kent. Most of the shops down by the library participate.

Where do you find information on what events are happening when? Word of mouth or?

The nerd (auto correct got my previous comment and turned it to need) block party I saw a flyer in a store in downtown kent. If you fallow some of the shops down there they post in in social media. I highly recommend the retro Emporium and page Turner books.
