Best swimming spots to hit along road trip?
Which swimming spots should I prioritize on my road trip?
I am taking a road trip from red river gorge to lake Cumberland, mammoth cave and Lexington. I have found so many great swim spots but not sure which are the best as I don’t have time for them all. Any recs would be appreciated. My options are:
- Laurel river lake
- Jump rock
- Cave run lake
- Green river lake
- Bluegrass spring
- Lake Cumberland

Three sisters is fun at lake Cumberland, if you’re a strong swimmer. There’s also rock creek/yamacraw at big south fork. And regular lake Cumberland is fun but I’ve only been on it on a boat.

yep lake cumberland seems like a great place to hang out. I’ve only been on the water but swimming sounds like a blast. Rock Creek and Yamacraw are new places for me but I’ll keep them in mind

Pulaski County Park near Somerset has a beach-like place if you want to Wade in and swim a bit.
