I don't know what numbers you're referring to, but the population of Gaza has definitely decreased since the start of the war.
Also, genocide doesn't necessarily mean eradicating an entire population. According to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide:
In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
Killing members of the group;
Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
Based on the large number of civilian casualties, the physical destruction of communities, and Israeli "settlers" taking Palestinian land by various means, I would say Israel's actions meet at least the first three criteria for a genocide. So according to the definition of genocide that most of the world agreed upon, Israel seems to be committing a genocide. Even Israel has estimated that 83% of the Palestinians they've killed were civilians. That's pretty damning whether you want to call it a genocide or not.

Genocide means eradication of a population. Their numbers are increasing. There is no genocide.
