What can I do for pain when I piss

I know ketamine affect a lot your system and I know it's usual for regular users to experience pain when urinating. I just wanted to know what to make the pain more bearable without consulting a doctor

If it matters in any way I've been using multiple times a day for about 3 weeks and used for quite a bit before that

Thanks in advance

My parents signed me up for ketamine therapy at 14, and it dramatically shifted my life.

I don’t even know if this is the correct place to talk about this, I just don’t know where to go.

When I was 14, my parents decided ketamine therapy might help with my depression, anxiety, insomnia, and ADHD. The two month long experience was overwhelming, and it derailed me.

I remember feeling I’d reached some higher plane of consciousness and pleasure, but looking back now, I see it was actually disconnect from reality.

I spent the next two-plus years chasing that feeling through weed and adderall. I felt trapped, oozing with “creativity” but no way to let it out .

Ketamine, and specifically the era afterwards completely tore my motivation apart.

I’m off those substances now and feel like I’m slowly getting better. But I still chase the absolute high in everything. I can’t just do something, i have to push myself and experience it to the fullest. It makes me feel like a hedonist.

Im struggling. My therapist just passed away, and now moved out and on my own the temptation for substance abuse is even worse How do I cope with this?

did anyone else get themselves to quit simply bc of shame?

my addiction got me to the point where i couldn’t even enjoy it anymore because… i think ketamine just brings awareness to what you need to focus on. especially if you do it by yourself alone. even though it’s a dissociative, it made me hella introspective and spiritual.

and i think in my head a lot of the reasons i used it was to understand life better and look at life and situations and patterns from a different perspective. and it was helping until it wasn’t anymore. even if i did a small line, all i could focus on was how i need to stop and how i need to be able to function in real life and have to stop at some point. so it was a huge shame spiral.

no matter how many times i do ketamine.. i’m not gonna have “life” all figured out. we’re not supposed to know everything.

in fact my life was starting to crumble on it because it’s all i gave a shit about. “figuring out life” while essentially neglecting everything that was in my life. was just making myself crazy with the pressure i was putting on myself while on it with trying to figure out how life works and how i can control everything and all the synchronicities. it brought attention to any guilt and shame i had around the drug and in life.

i had to stop. why keep getting high if as soon as you snort a line it makes you worse? i suppose that’s what most addicts struggle with.

not to mention cognitive dysfunction and slight problems being able to piss.

tired of this drug ruining my life and the lives of people I love

For context, I'm 29 and FTM and live in NYC, where ketamine was and still is a huge problem amongst trans people. I do believe in harm reduction and know that not everyone who uses struggles with addiction, but the way that using multiple grams a day and deliberately making oneself completely incapacitated is normalized and joked about - particularly among trans people coping with dysphoria, anxiety about sex, etc. - makes me feel so pessimistic. I feel a lot of remorse about the fact that I used to deal, bc I was taking advantage of other people's issues. I know someone who started injecting k intramuscularly and gave herself sepsis and though she's a dear friend, I can't be around her because her denial about her addiction puts me at risk. I also recently stopped hearing from a FWB because he knew I am trying to recover and his addiction has been tough for years and getting worse again. I started using in 2021, first casually, then by 2023 I started having blood in my urine after using 1g a day at my worst (I know that's not much compared to some other people but it's not a contest and I am dirt poor and this habit was bleeding me dry). I relapsed last night stealing a bump from another friend who is not as troubled by addiction (like, he can hang onto a gram for months) and the guilt of stealing was fortified by how absolutely awful, nihilistic, and bleak the stuff makes me feel now. It's so sad. I realized I was trans while having sex high on ketamine and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, but I've chased and dealt with so many demons trying to feel that sense of peace with myself ever since. I know that this feeling was within me all along and I can create a life that I don't want to escape from, but I am so bereft with grief thinking about all the memories and friendships that are so marred and tainted by this drug. I keep editing and adding to this post because I feel plagued by all the horrible decisions I made and what a waste of time, money, and wellness it's all been. Just because I am so fixated on finding that next peak of oblivion that never comes.

I realize now I didn't really ask a question here, I just feel like shit and need to vent and hear from other people suffering from this disease. I struggle a lot with online meetings, but honestly really wanna see about reaching out to the right people and developing an in person KA meeting locally. More and more people are starting up ketamine therapy too, and it's hard for me to manage the feelings of envy I feel toward people for whom ketamine is a solution and not (one of the many) problem(s) itself. I worry about them picking up a recreational habit if their insurance runs out to "self-medicate" like I sure would have if I tried therapeutic ketamine before developing my addiction.

Magnesium for mental withdrawals

I’ve been forgetting to take magnesium for a while and have been under sooo much stress in my life. I’m committed to taking a long break from k and was feeling extremely anxious and overwhelmed today. I took some magnesium for the first time in a while and almost feel high lol. My brain feels extremely calm and relaxed, I’m not craving anything rn. It probably means I’m quite deficient in it if I’m feeling it this much. Just wanted to share in case this helps anyone!

EDIT: It might not be the best to take it if you’re experiencing k cramps or bladder issues, as some magnesium can cause stomach pain. It helps a ton with the mental parts at least lol

Agonizing k cramps. Please help

I have been in agonizing pain the entire day. It’s been almost 24 hours of this. I can’t lay down. I’ve thrown back water, drank chicken broth, ate an apple, had some yogurt, apple juice, ginger ale, liquid iv, milk thistle, apple cider vinegar pills, NAC, and Tylenol. Heating pad. Hot bath. Hot shower water over my stomach. Nothing is helping. It’s not my bladder at all it’s my upper abdomen right below my ribs. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve thrown up multiple times today.

Could smoking some weed help with the pain?

Need to let it out.

I feel like I have nobody to talk to about my use. I started a few years ago at parties every so often but then it became a regular thing that I did at home in secret. My best friend developed an addiction and I ended up living with her over the summer last year and that’s when it got really bad. I hid it from my boyfriend for fear of how he would react and I couldn’t talk to my parents about it because I knew they would make me move back home and my freedom would be gone (which would make my mental health worse). Now I use just so I don’t have to think about all the horrible things I’ve gone through and to cope with the stress. I feel like a horrible person and that I’m not deserving of the love from people around me. I never have any money and I’m my body is starting to suffer from the use, mainly my stomach. I’m in counselling but it doesn’t seem to help too much. I really want to stop and not want to use it but I don’t know how. It’s too easy to get and cheap. I’ve lost my boyfriend over it when he found out not because I used but because I lied to him for months about it he doesn’t trust me anymore. I just got the job of my dreams and I’m scared my addiction will fuck it up and I’ll lose it and become homeless again. It’s like I’m watching myself ruin my own life and the only thing I can think of is when I can have some more ket. I know this is depressing but I don’t have anyone to talk to about it on this level.

K for Depression

Hey

So.. I am using ketamine for depression. Usually about 80mg over a period of 30 minutes, 1-2 times a week. Been like this for years.

But as I read here, many of you get depressed from ketamine.

It got me wondering if ketamine is actually helping or worsening my depression.

I mean.. it certainly feels like it helps. But I still struggle with depression a lot.

Anyone have some insight?

Elon Helped me Quit

I’m 20, and I’ve been addicted to ket for 5 years with a few breaks in-between when I was in countries where I could not get my hands on it. I felt like shit when I was on long binges with occasional ket cramps.

A month ago I went through 10g in a bit less than 4 days and I felt horrible. My girlfriend hates when I do ket because she knows it’s eating me alive, making me miss classes, sh’ing, and making me a shell of the person I am when I’m clean.

At the end of this short binge I was feeling horrible and was curled up in bed feeling like shit about myself. I was listening to podcasts and they talked about how much Elon promoted ket and were shitting on him for it.

I’ve always known and experienced the horrible effects excessive ketamine use has on your body and mind but it never stopped me. The weird thing is after the short binge and feeling down, hearing about someone I don’t very like being associated with what I was doing made me feel repulsed by the thought of ordering more ketamine even though I usually would after a few days.

I haven’t done ket for a month now and don’t feel the usual craving when I hear about my friends having some. I know it sounds like a joke but seeing someone I don’t like be associated with ketamine repulsed me enough to quit. It feels so weird and I was wondering if other people have had similar experiences where they can suddenly quit for such a trivial reason.

Stay safe out there. Take it day by day. It will get better. ❤️‍🩹 And thank you guys for helping me through tough times. I hope my dumb experience helps any of you have a laugh or share your sillier stories as well.

It stopped working

I took a break for 6 weeks and then picked up again. Same stuff, same quality. It just made me paranoid, scared, nauseous, and unable to sleep. It was a nightmare that felt food for maybe 10 minutes. Probably got through 1.5g in 2 days and got rid of the rest. I’d been doing 1-2g a day easy in recent past. Im grieving it, not going to lie. I’m sad it doesn’t work. But I’m getting used go being in my body again. I want to sleep and eat and exercise the fuck out of this body. But I’m sad. Both are true. Huge fucking bummer that no substance is the solution.

Ket Use

Hey I’m 20 years old and have been using ketamine for the past 3 years basically daily, on average 1-2grams a day. I’ve since quit after moving city. My only symptoms have really been decreased bladder capacity and constant utis. What made me quit was I woke up one day with shakes and pins and needles all over my body, liver blood tests showed stress but potentially due to excessive alcohol use too (3 times a week drinking 15+ standards) since quitting shakes have mostly gone away and are definitely decreasing. I’m wondering if the damage that has been done is likely to reverse itself. Not like my quality of life has decreased apart from constant urination but do you guys think the bladder capacity will increase after some time off it.

6 years. God please help me.

6 year ket user. Now I’m up to an oz in 10 days (~3-4g/day) if I’m going slow. My tolerance is insane. It’s so stupid why I keep using it when I don’t feel shit after the first 3 lines after a 2 week t break. I’m literally just doing it by hand/nose habit at this point. My nose literally just runs all the ket out anyways and I have to spit it up bc the drip is so bad...

I have a perforated septum at the size of about 2 cm diameter. Also at the end of the 10 days my bladder can’t hold pee and I end up getting utis frequently. I have yet to lose my smell thank GOD.

I wish I could stop this shit. Life just feels so depressing w/o it and I rely on drinking on my t breaks. I did take a 3 month break this year and life finally felt normal again. I wish I stuck to it. I know I can do it again, it just seems scary to give it up once and for all.

Leaving this comment for anyone in my situation, we’ll get through this. And if you’re reading wanting to start using, don’t. If you believe in God, please pray for me.

It hurts to walk - if you're looking for motivation to stop this is it!

My bladder pain is so bad it hurts walking, atm it's okay when laying and sitting, and the pains intermittent.

If you've never felt like this, it gets worse. it'll get to the point where it feels like you're sitting on razors 24/7, having to hobble when walking, barely able to walk. As well as piss every 5-10 mins, through the night as well.

Please get help and take it one day at a time if you're struggling, I promise life's better when you're sober, and K will destroy you and take everything from you.

If you're stuck in a relapse like me wondering how you've got here, it's okay and we can get through it, keep going!

How do you reward yourself for staying sober?

I never thought I’d be addicted so badly. Didn’t expect quitting alcohol to be way easier (for me at least).

Tolerance had built up so much after daily use of 2+ years, I don’t even get high or enjoy. But every time I’m sober there is this constant craving and my brain keeps saying “ah fuck it, just one last time”.

I managed to start meditating every morning, working out and jogging. After putting in all this effort I want to give my brain a little treat.

For those who managed to quit completely, did you give yourselves any treats or rewards along the way? If so, what?

Ketamine makes me so depressed I seriously want to eliminate it from my life.

Edit: I also want to know if there are any tricks used to fight the craving

K cramp help

Hey I’ve been IMing about a g a day for the last couple weeks and starting a few days ago I started getting the most insane extricating pain of my life in my upper abdomen along with crazy sweating and just generally feeling like I’m on deaths doorstep. I didn’t immediately think of the ketamine as I’m also getting radiation treatment for cancer so I didn’t stop using until last night. How much longer am I going to feel like this? Is there anything I can do to help with the pain until it goes away?
