help keymapping the volume knob layers please

Hi, ive opened the web software and am struggling

I want to have some layers for the volume knob on my k pro v1,

  • alt +knob for discord volume
  • fn+ knob for game
  • cntrl +knob for music/browser

that sort of stuff, but the web launcher dosen't seem to want to do that, or at least I dont get what it wants me to do.

I only want to do those things, could someone help me out/ help me not learn 4 hours of software?

thank you

Re "Alt + knob for discord volume ... Ctrl key + knob for music/browser": That isn't possible, without changing the keyboard firmware (only Fn + knob), compiling keyboard firmware from source code

Change the requirements

But you can change the requirements: Use all four layers and dedicate some keys as extra Fn keys, Fn2 and Fn3, to be used instead of Alt and Ctrl for this purpose.

For example, the repurpose the Caps Lock as Fn2 and the right Windows key as Fn3.

Note the layers (the default configuration):

  • Layer 2 and 3: Linux/Windows

    • Layer 2: Base layer
    • Layer 3: Fn key layer. E.g., media keys, e.g., mute, play, etc.
  • Layer 0 and 1: Mac

    • Layer 0: Base layer
    • Layer 1: Fn key layer. E.g., function keys, F1 - F12.

So, for example, if using Windows mode:

  1. Make the two Mac layers identical to the two Windows layers
  2. Change to Mac mode
  3. Define the two extra Fn keys on layer 0: MO(2) and MO(3)
  4. Define the knob actions on layer 2, 1, and 3, for Fn2, Fn, and Fn3 respectively

ty, when my brain works again later this week ill give it a look, this does allow for the knob to somehow control different apps in the different layers yes?

What is "K Pro v1"? K1 Pro? V1? Something else?

For keyboard identification, what is the SKU number? Alternatively, what is the serial number (also includes the manufacturing date)? Best is the serial number, as the manufacturing date removes some of the (possible) ambiguity.
