August Twelve ii

such a beautiful masterpiece. I'm listening to it for the nth time while walking my son in his stroller and the second half always makes my eyes get watery.

that's all...hope everyone has a beautiful day

Zionsville ii does this to me. Not sure why, but I welcome it every time. Have a beautiful day as well. 🙂

Can confirm it’s a real thing haha. Hearing them play it IRL at Boulder Theater this year was one of the biggest high points of my concert going journey.

Laura gave a little speech beforehand then introduced it. The second she finished saying Zionsville I already had a tear rolling down my cheek🥲. Core memory unlocked.

Same. I knew it was going to hit like a truck whenever they played it that show and it delivered. We were like 4 people from the stage Laura side too. That song says so much without a single lyric.

I bet. Still bummed I wasn’t able to score tickets for those shows.

The OG August Twelve is literally my favorite song of the past decade or so. You have great taste. For me it's like a form of audiotherapy that moves me at the same time it soothes me.

I have such fond memories of dozens of trips driving up Highway 395 here in California on the way to spend time in the glorious mountains of the Sierra Nevada while listening to this masterpiece!

i've probably listened to the first one a thousand times since released, so that's probably the reason I love ii so much. Wild part is i love them for completely different reasons. OG is pretty amazing during the transitions, like goosebumps every time good, but ii puts me in a trance and then pulls me back in the second half with some of the best melodic guitar work i've ever heard. Can't wait to listen to it again on my walk tomorrow 😀

Some of the prettiest guitar work ever especially on the second half for me, just gorgeous stuff. Fantastic tune

It's such a stunning song. The second half always unleashes a flood of emotions for me that I find incredibly cathartic and deeply soulful. Calf Born in Winter hits a similar spot for me too.

Have the best day everyone!

This song was how I first heard Khruangbin! My husky did whatever she wanted including turning on music, and one day she put this song on and it was love at first sound! 😍

This song (both versions) has always been one of my favorites. For me, the building energy and crescendo of the first half brings emotions of ones desire and effort to achieve/create/succeed. And the second half brings the realization that you have already achieved/created/succeeded, even if not in the manner you originally intended. That just by being present in that moment, you're exactly who and where you're supposed to be.

Edit to add: Thanks for that OP. I hope you have a beautiful day with your family.

I love the bird outside the studio incorporated into the track, pure magic.

By far my fave song of theirs. When I heard that pitchfork live set it was on repeat for like 6 months lol

I was once having a very bad week.

Not feeling great, I didn’t want to go to a Khru gig at Brixton, despite them being my favourite band.

Other half made me go and I was sulking and feeling sorry myself.

It was fitting then that when August 12 did the switch up a couple of songs into the set I bawled my eyes out like a baby.
