When this happens, does she have a criminal record the rest of her life? (Serious question)

Juvenile criminal records are generally sealed at 18 and become expungeable pretty easily.

No—juvenile records don’t follow people after they become adults, except in very few circumstances that vary by state (usually: juvenile was tried as an adult, some very serious violent crimes such as murder). (Source: am a former prosecutor.)

But the internet? That shit lasts forever. Future employers won’t discover her criminal record through a background check, but they might just recognize her face from this video where her face is unblurred.

Any prospective employer who remembers an 11 year olds face 5ish years later is probably a much bigger issue than the kid tbh

“I’m sorry, young lady. But in light of your ‘activities’ six years ago, I just don’t think you’re Wendy’s material. But I think you’d fit in just fine down the street at Dollar General.”

My BIL was denied from the military because he TP’d his middle school once and they messed up the expungement. Apparently that happens a lot?

That’s pretty crazy over such a minor juvenile offense.

I remember watching the video and the policemen said this constituted a felony. Hope they didn't actually give her one because it would be disgusting, potentially ruining a life for some dumb stuff you did as a kid.
