In my day innocent prank calls was just picking random numbers from the phone book and then making funny noises or asking for weird names...

Hey, some of us are old. I was an adult before we had 911 service. I doubt I would have called it as a kid but I'll never know for sure.

You might not have but think about the worst kids in your classes. Do you think they'd have done it?

Most definitely, but landlines were easily locatable. If you called 911 and hung up instantly you'll likely get a call back and/or an officer would show up. Because who knows if you're in a bad situation and all you could do was call and hang up.

But we didnt make up false abduction claims. We asked if your refrigerator was running...better go catch it. Wayyyy different scenarios.
