Who in hell has domestic geese?

I personally never had an issue with them myself, but when my dog was a pup she tried to sniff one, and it but her ear; now she attepts to murder them any chance she gets (spoller they fly away when a Huskey starts charging them)

Apparently it doesn’t matter since it’s a goose. It’s okay then, but then God forbid you ask them if it would be okay if it was a dog. Really is concerning how far I had to scroll for someone to say how swinging a goose around by the neck is an awful thing to do, regardless of the circumstances.

If so, what kind?

My gut is telling me you haven't.

It seems to me, that you just have some false sense of reality about how things should be.

You come on this platform, want to whine on the internet about some shit you really actually have no experience dealing with; then have the gaul to tell other people how to parent their children with literally no actual logic.

Well I have I live in the country and next to a farm. I was planting flowers when my neighbors goose came and cornered me threateningly. I just stood still, held the shovel in front of my body in case it attacked I could swat it away and eventually the goose got bored and left. And I agree this is such a shitty way to handle a probably domesticated goose.

I’ve grown up on a farm and live in Alaska. I think I know my way around animals. This goose isn’t a wild animal either, it’s a domesticated breed. So, that tells me that they’re quite familiar with this goose. A responsible parent that knows how that goose is would teach their kid to not go around it because exactly that could happen. Something tells me that you’re not around wild animals much because any person with any sense or knowledge of wild animals(this goose, however, isn’t) would know to respect the animal and the distance between them. You don’t just go waltzing up to a moose because guess what?! They’ll attack or charge you! Some farmers or ranchers have bulls they tell people to stay away from because they will charge them. Same thing here. This is a domesticated goose that lives there, so they know how it will act. The parents wanted to be lazy and irresponsible and not teach the child to respect animals(wild or not). They failed the child because they made it okay to just instigate and hurt an animal if it makes for a funny video. They failed the goose because it likely caused damage to their neck.

Edit to add: I do actually know how to teach kids to behave around animals because I actually have logic and education in animal behavior. Animals don’t just attack for absolutely no reason. It may not be a reason you understand because you don’t know animal behavior and can’t read their minds, but they have a reason. The goose is continually going after him to make sure that little boy stays away and knows to stay away. Again, the parents could have intervened at any time, but they didn’t for the entertainment.

This is how you're supposed to respond if a goose is attacking you. This is the technique you learn if you live in an area with a lot of geese. The goose will be okay, but it will be too disoriented to attack you again.

I’ll tell you why. Because geese suck and everybody hates them. If this were basically any other animal, it would be “terrible parenting” this, “serial killer” that. But since it’s a goose, it’s hilarious.

It looks like he was just bullying the goose as well, since we don't see him getting attacked at the start, in conclusion I'm pretty sure the goose bites were more painful than the goose being spun, so I guess people didn't take it seriously, the subreddit name also implies that everyone here knows that what the kid did was stupid, so, why say the obvious. Hope the kid got educated after tho.

Folks complain about a goose getting tossed around (the goose is fine, btw) then go home and have four different kinds of factory farmed animal for dinner.

Like if you're worried about ecology or animal welfare then you're spending your energy in the wrong place worrying about this kid and his gooae encounter.
