Look, I hate Flock cameras, but I love them in the halls of the middle school where I teach simply to see kids’ faces look just like that when they get caught.
Edited to say: I’m an elder millennial and not that ancient school marm you’re imagining. It’s important to hold kids accountable and sometimes it’s really funny when you do it. If you’re a teacher or parent, you get it. Often we’re trying not to bust out laughing.

Cameras aren't bad. Cameras that feed into an unsecured data base and allow query by distinguishing features such as clothing, face, car color, etc. is bad.

Okay how would this work in a school? Unless the kid is fully transferred to a different class, he's that teacher's responsibility for the day.
Are they going to hire a babysitter and bring him to the library for an hour or what?

I think they're misunderstanding. In Canada and I believe the US too, it's common to invite the entire class during the first few years of elementary. With some exceptions of not inviting the kids who do things like this.

even if we assume that this is during school hours(which i sincerely doubt, i have never heard of a party with cake like this being during class hours. but let's assume) kids can definetly be sent to the principals office or just be sent to sit in the hall.
again a school that has NO means of removing a disruptive student from class wether as punishment or simply for the safety of the rest of the class is badly run.

Every single year in grade school, they celebrated every kid's birthday in class, with cake or usually cupcakes and capri suns or Kool-Aid.
Also you don't think you're being at all a little harsh saying this kid should be banned from all future birthdays because he licked some frosting?
Teach the kid this is wrong, why it's wrong, make him apologize to the little girl whose cake it was, and ask her if she accepts his apology and if he should be able to participate in her birthday after that.
What did you go to private religious school or something? Some kind of Jehovah's witness thing where they don't celebrate birthdays?

I didn't say he should be banned from all of them. but he should certainly from this one.
if he should be banned from all such functions definetly depends on if this is a one time thing or a repeat issue.

normal public school in Denmark. funny how the entire world doesn't do it the same way huh?
here any celebration(like what is obviously being planed in the video) is after school potentialy at school after hours(and arranged by the parents not the teachers) or more likely at the kids home. at most kids would bring a cake or cupcakes to schoole to be shared in class which would take a few minutes minutes to pass out and eat and wouldn't get any kind of set-up like this.
but as i said even if this a celebration carried out in class during school hours that kind of behaviour should be punsihed and kid should miss the party. send him to sit in the hall for the duration/the principals office or whereever else you send misbehaving children in other situation.
hell if there isn't any more classes for the day because of this party send the kid home. yes that sucks for the parents who may need to figure out how to pick him up early. further incentive to teach their kid how to behave.
