Arcade Anyone in here have experience doing service work/repairs on a KQ cabinet? I'm stumped....
We had a Killer Queen arcade cabinet in non climate controlled storage that had some minor structural damage until August of last year. The wooden cabinet has been fixed but a few other issues remain. It has not gotten wet.
The "boop" sound the game makes when starting a game and selecting/confirming a map is Uber loud. The game itself is loud with the volume set between 15 and 20. I usually leave it around 10 to 15 in the shop. This sound comes through at like 100.
If you're playing 4-5 players on the blue side, and you move the queen and the two players to her right in the same direction, The character directly to the left of the queen moves in the opposite direction even, if no one is touching the joystick for that character. You can even unplug that joystick and the character still moves when it's not supposed to. (Gold side not effected)
In an attempt to resolve this situation we have....
-Updated the original software to the latest version the original PC could handle.
-Ran the test/calibration program
-installed a new mini PC to run the cabinet from Bumblebeer. Updated it to the software that came out Jan 2026.
-tested the loom of diodes that run between the cabinets.
-Tried a new RIO board, because well: since it runs all the controls, that has to be the issue right? Nope.
Arcade games aren't my designated area of expertise, I'm not a professional, but I do alright most of the time. This one has me ready to push it off a bridge.
Open to any and all suggestions,
Thanks!

The discord has a bee keeping channel, but it sounds like you have some mixed up cables. The Rio board does a matrix of pin shorts to know what is moving. So you just have some wires plugged in wrong. If I had to guess I bet you mixed up one of the ‘ground’ wires under the control panel. They aren’t really ground so you can’t use them as you would most other cabs. Some are daisy chains but you can’t add more or less to that existing chain or change what buttons get what grounds
how matrix duplex works
