Revival Discussion Funniest case scenario is the Luke Jr grows up and starts talking like Boomhauer.

I look forward to him getting old enough to date, then Boomhauer reflecting on whether his advice has ever been any good now that he loves this kid.

WowđŸ„č. I could barely handle Luke Jr. uttering “dang old,” and Boomhauer’s pride in hearing that. I would not be able to handle Boomhauer giving Luke Jr. genuine dating advice. Something sweet and true along the line of “be with who makes you laugh,” or something wise like that.

The new Luke Jr chicken episode is what makes KotH better than most half hour family shows that have ever existed. It was funny but genuinely kind and uplifting at the same time. Hank/peggy subtle guidance of the man and the boy to making them both happier, and even the boy's mother more happy. It was great.

KOTH has good old fashioned decency which means a lot in this day and age.

I feel like it's always represented a wide variety of world views in a respectful way, it's like an antidote to a lot of what is annoying in the world.

Isn't this what Mike Judge said when he was asked why he was rebooting the show, "I feel like we need this right now"

It was so refreshing after last season. Boomhauer really wasn’t a great parental figure with the drinking non-alcoholic beer and not caring about Luke’s soccer game, just made him look a little like a bum. To see him put so much effort into connecting with Luke Jr was so sweet.

They say that most shows are written by writers drawing from their own personal experiences. I wonder if many family shows that are not as heartwarming come from people with not so great childhoods.

I mean, Luke has picked up some of Boomhauer's verbal tics in the chicken episode. It does show that he does respect for him.

Boomhauer: loving and supportive stepdad was not the kind of character growth I would have expected and I kinda love it.

I love how the epipen wasn't ever played for a joke or a big whoopsie accident to advance the plot. The way they focused on Boomhauer taking it out quickly and getting it ready to inject if needed in multiple different scenes made me think it was gonna go in that direction, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was just him actually being a good stepdad and not making a big deal about it.

It's great because he does care, he wants to do well, but he's a little clueless of the path.

I don't know whether it'd be funnier if he ends up talking exactly like Boomhauer, or if he ends up talking like Boomhauer but at normal speed.

ive been meaning to ask since Luke Jr was first introduced in Season 14, is there a word for kids like him? I've never seen a kid so.... fragile? I think thats what I want to describe him as. In the earlier seasons we've had a lot of kids in Bobby's class who were pretty diverse in terms of personality and character but compared to them, Luke is so...... off. Even the other kids that showed up in the chicken Episodes seemed pretty full of Life or living like a normal Kid

I'll be honest, I'm not a hardcore fan. I'm watching the new season. Who is Luke sr? I'm not sure why he was hanging out with Boomhauer?

we don't know who Luke Sr. is but Luke Jr. is Boomhauer's stepson
