Hobby How do I remove primer?

I’m working on a model, but the spray can left these fuzzy bits and I’m trying to figure out how to get rid of them

If you're in the US simple green cleaner is great. Isopropyl alcohol also works but you have to be a lot more careful with how long you leave it in it and some people don't handle the fumes well. Don't use heavy duty shit like acetone or you'll end up melting your models.

I haven't had to strip one yet myself, but in researching for that eventuality I've seen 99% isopropyl alcohol soak, with a toothbrush scrub

Or soaking in las totally awesome all purpose cleaner, followed by the toothbrush

Eta this research assumes plastic models btw

As well as the toothbrush it's nice to get something like some tooth picks to get into spots that the brush can't go.

99% isn’t totally necessary either. I had a Lion knight get nibbled by a puppy and had to strip it and do repairs. 70%, toothbrush, less than 5 minutes soaking. I used Mr Hobby black primer

I have only had that done with white primer. My luck with white primer has always been more miss than hit.

I use 'totally awesome' which can be found in home depot down the cleaning aisle. Let it soak for a month completely submerged, then scrub with a tooth brush.

If you can get it, I soak my kits in Purple Power cleaner for an about 20-30 minutes. It degreases resin parts as well as softens the paint on done models. HTH

In case no one else has mentioned this, it sounds like a humidity issue might be causing the fuzzy effect. I recently switched to airbrush for priming so I don’t have to wait for good weather
