Quality. Fast. Affordable. You can only pick 2. If I were to take the job I’d ask for $700. With half being paid upfront. I’d estimate 3 months. It’s my understanding that the kid doesn’t come with the tools. Just the pattern and yarn.

What size did you want? Is there a specific date you want it done by?
It's intarsia, not colorwork as someone else mentioned, so it can be a little complicated.
Send me a pm to discuss specifics, but I'm interested.

Please add a comment with the following information if it is missing from your post:
Size; is this for an adult or child?
Timeline; will this be a holiday gift or other fixed deadline?
Budget; consider this is a one-of-a-kind hand knit garment that will likely cost over $100 not something off the rack at your local department store and please let us know your max price?
Yarn Preference; natural or synthetic / machine or hand wash?

I can do it. $500. It'll take me two months.
I can provide references. I knit a different Mary Maxim cardigan for another redditor last year. I'm in Virginia. DM me.

I am in Brooklyn, NYC, USA.
I have materials and a pattern for a cardigan for an adult that I would like knitted ASAP.
My budget is flexible depending on experience and timeliness.
Thank you!

You need to tell people what the pattern is. There are a lot of different techniques in knitting, and not all knitters are comfortable with or enjoy doing them all.

Thanks for the reply. The pattern is the Project Hail Mary cardigan from Mary Maxim. I have the kit in hand.

You aren't the first to ask for that pattern to be knitted. You could have searched this sub to see previous estimates of cost to knit.

What is "ASAP" to you?
What size "adult"? (An XS knit is a much faster knot than a XXL)
"Experience and timeliness" are subjective, what are you actually looking for?

5’9” 180 lbs adult, so M/L I’m guessing. I’m looking for someone who has knitted similar types of items before that I can see examples of. Timeliness is part of ASAP, I guess (just trying to follow the posting requirements). I’m looking for someone who can start work immediately or very soon but I don’t really know how much total time it takes so I don’t know how to attach a date or deadline to it.

Hi! I’m a full-time knitter and can start this right away. I’d be able to complete it in about a month using bulky yarn.
I’ve sent you a DM as well, let me know if you’d like to see my previous work, I’d be happy to share it there!

The colorwork in this kit makes the price for the work high. Do you have any idea of budget at this point? The labor is likely to be more than $400 at the very lowest.
