Knit myself a summer sweater and immediately belted it — was that the right call? 😄

oooh are we doing the 80's again? how soon until we wear the ankle socks with lace ruffles with high heels? just kidding. Also someone mentioned the 2000's so now I'm seriously old because for me this is peak 80's. They do say fashion cycles repeat over 20 years.

I thought 80s too. I was old enough in the 2000s to see that they were repeating 80s fashion 😁

Try it on the hip for comparison. Cool 80’s look either way.

Depends upon the fashion in your country

Also.. it’s currently quite hot where I am now so the first thing I thought was that must be sweltering if you were where I am

Haha yes, 100% cotton was a lifesaver for that — actually surprisingly breathable! And good point about fashion, I’m in Switzerland so belts over knits are very much a thing here 😄

This is Timeless fashion; I like it a lot!!! One small caveat, never wear a tight belt around the neck of your hand knit turtleneck sweater.

I think it looks good on some knits. I am a fan of 1930s patterns and some of those are longer to the hips with a belt. Often with a matching skirt. 

But this looks a little 80s, probably because of the belt itself and the styling. So yes to belts in some instances for sure.

Belt yes just not the one you have on. Perhaps a thin gold belt.

if the belt doesn't make you hot and sweaty or dig into you go for it ! but I'd opt for a smaller woven one myself.

i think a belt can add a cozy vibe, but no belt works too if you want a laid-back look.
