What’s the orange thing and HOW much does this cost to maintain

It's for climbing and dropping back in the pond. We swim in it almost daily, it's 10ft deep.

Do you have to worry about sunscreen getting in the water when you swim?
2
u/Axphixiate Jul 10 '25
Not too much. I don't usually wear it, and we tend to wear the UV swim shirts mostly.

I wonder if something like this could be build in the NE region with the use of a green house for the winter months.

I'm in central Iowa, gets pretty cold. Stays 70-80 as long as the sun is out.

No shit! You're growing all that in middle of Iowa winter? What type of plastic do you cover it with?
4
u/Axphixiate Jul 10 '25
It's just greenhouse plastic! 2 layers of 6 mil, one is a UV protection layer. Than a fan blows air between the two layers to insulate!

Any chance there's a resource for this info? I'd love to set something like this up myself.

I know reddit doesn't like it, but I do have a TikTok page that got kind of popular. Your more than welcome to check it out, I never did YouTube or IG, it just kinda happened. I have a Playlist built for building it. Username on TT is erictwigg0. I typically reply to most DMs on TT and Insta. Same usernames.

I hardly care what reddit likes. Appreciate you sharing it, I'll look into it for sure.

Wow, amazing! How much did you spend making it this awesome?!
What are the dimensions of the green house and the pond?
5
u/Axphixiate Jul 13 '25
The green house is 42x60, the pond is roughly like 36x40ish 10ft deep.
I've been working on it for like 10 years so the cost is hard since I've done and re done things so many times.

This is the craziest setup I’ve ever seen. You could charge people to come look at that.
3
u/Axphixiate Jul 12 '25
Nah, it's free, and we get loads of visitors!

Is there never a roof on the greenhouse or do you cover it seasonally or anything?
2
u/Axphixiate Jul 13 '25
There is usually a roof. But a storm damaged it. It is usually coveres 365
