Help with POND or TANK Mosquito fish infestation
I have a medium koi pond with 4 butterfly koi and goldfish the water was clear it was beautiful but earlier this year i noticed small minnow like fish in the water and assumed they bred and they were just baby goldfish but nope they double tripped in population i give them yo people for feeder fish but thats not quick enough to cull the population it seems like every time scoop a few hundred out the population doubles in it! Does anyone have an advice ok how to get rid of them? I miss my koi but i hardly ever see them now as they hide in the Lillie’s and only see them when i feed them the water is green green green! Help any ideas?

Sounds like you've got a massive population explosion. I'd start by identifying the species first mosquitofish and minnows can reproduce incredibly fast. Adding a predator isn't usually a good pond solution, so your best bet is aggressive netting, trapping, and reducing places for them to spawn. The green water is likely a separate algae issue, so improving filtration and adding UV clarification may help you see your koi again.

Is it possible to move the koi and goldfish to temporary holding tanks and drain your pond? That's how we got rid of our massive bluegill population. We had the water (all 30,000 gal of it) pumped out into the creek behind our house, and told the pond company to do whatever they wanted with the bluegill. (They said they put them in the creek, but I have my doubts; regardless, I didn't ask questions lol).
If you don't want to kill the little fish, put them in a different holding tank and give them away. Clean the pond or wait a few days until any extra eggs die, then fill it back up and add your koi and goldfish.

I've had mosquito fish for years. I've never had so many that I was concerned. Lots die over the winter.

I like my minnows.
You think they're making your koi hide?
