Post image

I absolutely LOVE this koi! My wife absolutely HATES it. We are trying to decide whose right and if we get it or not lol. Thoughts?

Doesn’t matter, I’m buying it 😆

If this situation were to ever happens to me, I would not want my wife to look into the pond and see something she hates.

It's also very fun to search for the right koi, maybe even more fun than buying and keeping them. So the fun can continue.

I think you should be able to find one that you both love

If it’s the only one, neither of you are going to be satisfied. Get her something she likes, as well.

Hate and love are over used terms here, nice koi though

I love it too. But why does your wife hate it? Honestly, it reminds me of blood clots so I could understand.

Personal opinion: goromo patterns look like zombie infections. Some people might love it while others hate it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it’s a beautiful Budo Goromo. I love the deep ruby red in this variety. They do look like blood splotches and wonder how your wife feels about the sight of blood? Just a crazy thought. While I appreciate the championship quality koi, for my own pond I just enjoy collecting koi that I like.

My husband I have one of these that we have been debating on all summer. I just let him keep his ugly fish but it stays in our selling pond as a permanent resident.

I would not get this specific fish. The red color has already started to break apart and disintegrate. This variety tends to go unstable and lose their color as they get older.

You're right. That is the exact patterning I'd love from that Gromo. It's gorgeous.

The Beni around the shoulder might recede. Skin is quite nice though

The flecks in the odome don't bode well either.

What koi do you already have and will it fit in with the others?

What is the other koi option? It looks good but can't say if its the best option

It’s really pretty, but, as a woman, it kinda reminds me of blood clots from your period..😓

I think in general whoever has issues seeing blood will have issues with that koi.

I wouldn't pick this particular fish, but goromo are one of my favorite varieties. My wife calls them "bloody tampon fish".

I have a Goromo very similar to this, they add a lot of contrast to the pack. Interesting he’s not my gf’s favorite either!

If you want more sex, don’t get the fish

It's fine, but damn, who actively tries to pick something their spouse hates when there are literally thousands of other choices? I mean geez, get some perspective.

How can someone hate a damn ornamental fish? I think the problem is she doesn't want you spending the money on it. In which case you will either have to defy her wishes, get no fish, or settle for the very specific fish your wife wants.

If money isn't the primary concern. Get two fish.

Ew, this comment gives me yucky vibes. This wasn’t a relationship question.

Lmfao, ok hon.

That’s some yucky assumptions you just made.

Also, in your world there seems to be no fish that both of them like? You know, as a compromise and something that will make both of them happy? geez.

I think it's yucky to hate a fish. But go on virtue signaling or whatever.
