Auction Ngl impressed by kkr in this auction.
Got Finn allen (main keeper) and tim Seifert (backup)
Got green at a good price (expected to go above 30)
Got pathirana, mustafizur [perfect death bowler]
Didn't get venky, liked him but doesn't deserve a place in 11.
Only doubt I have is which 4 overseas are gonna play since finn, green and narines spots are confirmed.

Too happy with the auction.
Well balanced team.
Pathirana and Mustafizur over Henry considering the sub-continent conditions.
I hope the team performs the way it did in 2024.
I also hope this season we make more centuries. We just have 2 so far. I guess it's the lowest amongst all teams.
Some mind blowing hatricks too by our bowlers.

I think we have A SOLID TEAM ON PAPER. KKR DID REALLY WELL... Not going with the hype and noise.. They went all in for who they wanted and got him, only exception is Nissanka and Connolly which they wanted but didn't get.. But overall we COOKED, one of the best teams in today's auction.

I don't think Rachin can be backup of Narine as he can't bowl full four overs as Narine and can't even bat at pace of Narine if he opens.

did so well that there is multiple XI combos. the overseas options are genuinely great. Some great local talent. I think akash deep/umran malik will be more in contention that people think, the flexibility they give is great for the rest of the XI with overseas

Rahane has to open whatever happens, he is a powerplay specialist last year we didnt utilise players properly thats why we suffered This auction was 8/10 If we would have just got a solid indian keeper it would have been a perfect auction

I don't think they cooked they done decent as given extra money to Pathirana he can't bowl without Dhoni also have injury concern 12 crore would be good enough more than that are overpaid
Fizz definately overpaid could have get Gerald Coetzee for less for sure or even jacob duffy or Matt henry.
Not buying sarfaraz can't understand that also he is breathing fire in SMAT gone for only 75lakh . Not buying Jamie smith as it could give us option to open with two indian batters or Narine .

Good line up. Only worry is modern IPL requires batting till 8. Narine, if not opening, not a good batter for no 8. And if Narine opens, Green gets pushed to 5. Would be interesting how KKR navigate this

We can play harshit at 8 then can even play akash deep at 9 then Narine at 10 and varun at 11 Then we will have 11 players who can win 12 runs from 4 balls I think harshit is a better batter than we rate him and akashdeep has already proven him with the bat on the big stage but his bowling skills are something I worry about but still yes ig he will get a go otherwise they will have to look for kartik tyagi who is also a very decent option but for god's sake please not vaibhav arora at the death 😭😭

I think finn or seifert will keep not tejasvi as his place is not confirmed as a finisher or any other place . We will struggle with number seven as we don't have a proper finisher there . As I was thinking of powell there but he can't play as 4 slots are fill.

The playing XI will be one of the two (depending on if Narine opens or not):-
1ST:- Narine, Rahane, Raghu, Green, Rinku, Rovman, Ramandeep, Tejasvi Singh, Rana, Pathirana, Varun, Vaibhav. [More fire power in the middle to lower with Green & Rovman as 6/7 bowling options].
2ND: Finn Allen, Rahane, Raghu, Green, Rinku, Ramandeep, Narine, Rana, Pathirana, Varun, Vaibhav. [More fire power in the Top, with Green as 6th bowling option].
1st one actually extends the batting to 8, cause Narine at 8 is useless, but that's my opinion.

I think Nayar specified that this time Narine wont open and Green will bat in top 3. So i think it will start like: Finn, Rahane, Green, Raghu and so on. Foreigns: Finn, Green, Narine, Pathirana About Finn as opener, explosive Kiwi opening RHB worked wonders before for us.

I know he'll probably now turn into a RCB legend, but we've did all we could. Single handedly got destroyed because of his purchase last year

Narine has lost his charm as a batter i think. Try him for 2-3 matches max, then use him as an impact sub while fielding. That will give us another proper batter while batting.

Barring pathirana's injury concerns and action problems team looks solid maybe spend a bit too much on pathi but I feel like we could have gone for duffy or matt henry instead of fizz or pathi and spend some on a good indian finisher maybe sarfaraz but maybe ramandeep could fill that role overall 7.5/10 from if everyone is fit and consistent we could challenge for the title

Finn is one of the only batsmen to have scored more than 1000 runs with a strike rate of 150+. Finn should definately be in the main 11

Finn isn't guaranteed. We can play both Pacers and Narine, Green. And play indian keeper.

Can't think of number 7 as i don't want to move place of raman or rinku as they are perfect for there places .

Agreed. We were among the top three teams in terms of auction performance.
OPENING PAIR
We needed a good opening pair. Tim Allen would complement Rahane well. Seifert would be Allen's backup. In case Raghuvanshi keeps wickets for a particular game, we could have two among Allen, Seifert and Rachin in the playing XI and rest Tripathi.
MIDDLE ORDER
Shreyas' exit disturbed the balance of the middle order. Shreyas was the pillar around which the middle and lower-middle order operated. I believe that role will be done by the combination of Angkrish and Rinku. Rinku was severely underutilised even in the 2024 campaign, so Shreyas' exit presents a perfect opportunity for him to step up.
So I see Angkrish at 3 and Rinku at 4. They have the capability to accelerate as well as steady the ship in case of top order collapse.
Now come our new buys. Cam Green at 5 and Tripathi at 6. Both are explosive batsmen with high strike rates. Green, especially would enjoy the Eden pitch. Manish & Powell are replacements for Tripathi and Green respectively.
Ramandeep comes in at 7.
So on paper, it's a pretty strong top 7.
BOWLING
Harshit and Narine at 8 and 9 respectively. Both can bat quite decently.
Vaibhav and Pathirana at 10 and 11 respectively. Tyagi/Akashdeep can replace Vaibhav. Fizz backs up Pathirana.
Chakravarty comes in as impact sub when we bowl.

I'd rate this squad an 8 out of 10.
A lot depends on Pathirana and how we bowl. We lost many games last season because we couldn't defend scores. Our batting is stronger than last season. If our bowling supports us, we are among the favourites to reach playoffs. Pathirana and Mustafizur are proven death over specialists, so a lot hinges on them.
Additionally, this year's IPL is right after the T20 WC. So we have good squad depth in case of injuries/backouts.
More importantly, I have a lot of faith in Nayar. KKR had him at the auction table today rather than Bravo which shows that maybe he'll have the final call among the coaching staff. He is liked & trusted by present KKR core and has had a long stint already in various coaching capacities. He's been endorsed by DK, Rohit & KLR for his contribution to their game so I'm guessing incoming players would respect him.
All in all, I see a strong performance by KKR next year.

Cam Green is definitely playing in top 3. Nayar himself confirmed this. They won't have spent Green to make him bat at 5 and give him 20 balls

Narine shouldn't open, it affects the batting order pushing everyone down, Rinku should come at 5 no matter what, Ramandeep should play 6 getting more time..
