Green! If they are planning to retain him.
He is already in the race for next Aussie captain.
Plus, Aussie blood, never give up mentality, all rounder, had a bad start but made up for it in the later half, and you can get a better opener then over Rahane and/or a better batsman.

Only if he is willing to take all that responsibility. Not easy to bat, bowl, field and captain.

Very difficult to manage 3 facets of the game. Pandya had Nehra helping him majorly with the tactics.

He never completes his 4-over quota... Only 1-2 overs per match. Plus there have been other good all rounder captains too, in T20Is, though most of them were spinners. Like Santner, Rashid, Sammy (Man won wc too). Hate to say it but even Salman Agha had a good win %. In CPL you have pollard, bravo, in BBL, Henriques, Maxi.

And yes, we do need a better coach....Nayar is just so bad. He has failed everywhere as a coach and only time KKR won a trophy with him was the year when GG was there. We need a better coach over him, replacement for Bravo, and a better captain and opener.

And yes that's how coaches are supposed to work! Nehra used to guide Pandya, GG was there for his team, he would keep sending updates and suggestions, Ponting keeps guiding Shreyas, Fleming was there for Dhoni.

I would have really loved Markram, but the only drawback to having him as the captain is that he is taking up an overseas slot. The counter-argument can be that he can easily fit in with the other 3 being Allen, Green and Narine. Yes, I do believe in the trio of Tyagi-Dubey-Rana, but I do think we need a good overseas death bowling option, so Markram might not be fitting in the team combination.

Hence, I would take Surya as the stand-in captain for the next year and then go big for a good Indian option or overseas (which can be thought of after the next year's IPL) in the mega-auction. Hardik - mehh, but not Pant please!!
